Hello, Lykkers! Ferrari delivered a remarkable performance at the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Charles Leclerc secured a solid 3rd place, while Carlos Sainz followed closely behind in 2nd. McLaren, however, clinched the Constructors’ Championship by a narrow margin of just 14 points over Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc’s Incredible Comeback Drive

Charles Leclerc’s race was a story of resilience and skill. Starting from 19th position, he executed some bold overtaking moves on the first lap, moving up to 8th place.

A collision between Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen at the start helped his cause, but Leclerc also made his own luck with some aggressive driving.

By lap 20, Ferrari’s strategic decision to pit for Hard tires allowed him to leap up the order, eventually securing 3rd place from lap 34 after Verstappen’s penalty and Lewis Hamilton’s pit stop. Leclerc’s final result was a testament to his relentless pace and the strategic expertise of his team.

“Even though the race itself was incredible, we didn’t achieve our main objective, which was to win the Constructors’ title, so there’s a genuine disappointment today,” Leclerc reflected. “But we came back strong in the second half of the season, which gave -me confidence for next year.”

Podium and Points Standings

Leclerc’s consistent performance throughout the season paid off as he finished 3rd in the Drivers’ Championship with 356 points, behind Lando Norris (374 points) and Max Verstappen (437 points and World Champion for the 4th time). This podium marked his 13th of the season. Despite not clinching the championship, Ferrari’s performance this year shows significant progress and potential for 2025.

Ferrari’s Season Review

Ferrari ended the 2024 season in 2nd place in the Constructors’ Championship, 14 points shy of McLaren. The season was marked by solid performances but also inconsistencies that McLaren capitalized on. “Even though the race itself was incredible, we didn’t achieve our main objective, which was to win the Constructors’ title, so there’s a genuine disappointment today,” Leclerc said. “Looking ahead to next year, I- hope we can start the season with a really strong car.”

Looking Forward to 2025

As the season wraps up, Ferrari has mixed feelings. While they didn’t manage to clinch the Constructors’ title, the gains made in the second half of the season show promising signs for next year. Leclerc and the entire team are already looking forward to the 2025 season with optimism. “A big thank you to all the team who made this season possible,” Leclerc concluded.

Here’s to hoping that next year’s season brings even more excitement and success for Ferrari and their dedicated fans!
