In mid-October 2022, BMW Motorrad is proud to present the 2023 edition of the BMW M 1000 RR, which the BMW manager claims are a masterpiece. "Thanks to our ambition, passion, and technical prowess, we have achieved breakthroughs in the aerodynamic development of the M RR".

After numerous trials on the road and in the wind tunnel, the design of the new M 1000 RR is indeed aerodynamically d. BMW also mentions that the M 1000 RR has increased downforce, top speed, and comfort thanks to updates to the airflow.

1. The design of the BMW M 1000 RR is getting more and more radical

The BMW M 1000 RR has undergone design changes and the styling has become more aggressive than the previous generation. Most notable of course is the fairing change, now the M 1000 RR winglets look bigger.

This winglet plays an important role in significantly increasing downforce aerodynamics while reducing risk to the wheels.

Other changes to the exterior include a larger air column design, a taller windshield that improves top speed, a new front fender design that increases airflow around the suspension and calipers, as well as the new stern design now manufactured to make it easier to remove and install the license plate holder.

2. The M 1000 RR is available in two models

BMW offers the M 1000 RR 2023 in two variants, the standard model and the M Competition model, available in Blackstorm Metallic color options.

The M Competition model is equipped with various components that differ from the standard model.

Examples include an anodized aluminum swingarm, GPS lap trigger, M Endurance chain, single seat cover, and several other components from the BMW M Milled Parts Package and M Carbon Package.

3. Specifications and features of the BMW M 1000 RR

The M 1000 RR is still powered by the 999 ccs inline 4-cylinder engine with improvements in several components.

Like the BMW ShiftCam technology valve, which is said to make the engine lighter, thereby minimizing friction.

With these specifications, the M 1000 RR 2023 has a maximum power output of up to 250 hp at 13,000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm.

The BMW M 1000 RR has seven riding modes, two throttle curves, three levels of engine brake control, and drag torque settings. In addition, there are other features such as cornering-dependent traction control and wheel control, a two-way quick shifter, launch control, LED lights, cruise control, and heated grips.

The new BMW M 1000 RR will go on sale in the U.S. in January 2023, starting at $32,995.
