Hello, Lykkers! Join us as we delve into the vibrant heart of New Zealand—Central Auckland.

This bustling metropolis offers a mix of stunning landscapes, cultural experiences, and delectable cuisine that left us enchanted.

Must-See Attractions

Our adventure began at the iconic Sky Tower, which soars 328 meters above the city. We took the elevator up for breathtaking 360-degree views of Auckland and its stunning harbors. The Sky Tower is open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, with tickets priced at approximately NZD 32 for adults and NZD 12 for children. We even dared to try the SkyJump—an exhilarating leap from the tower that costs about NZD 225!

Next on our itinerary was the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, a true gem for art lovers. We wandered through exhibits showcasing both contemporary and historical New Zealand art, with stunning architecture to boot. Admission is free, making it an easy addition to our day!

Nature’s Oasis: Auckland Domain

Just a stone’s throw from the gallery lies the sprawling Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park. We strolled through lush gardens, admired the ancient trees, and even enjoyed a picnic on the sprawling lawns. This green oasis is free to enter, allowing us to unwind amidst the city's hustle and bustle.

A Perfect Place to Stay

After a long day of exploring, we checked into The Cordis, Auckland, a luxurious hotel that felt like a home away from home. With rooms starting around NZD 350 per night, we enjoyed top-notch amenities, including a beautiful pool and an excellent restaurant. The location is perfect for accessing both the city center and nearby attractions, making it our go-to for a relaxing stay.

Culinary Delights: A Taste of Auckland

No trip is complete without indulging in local cuisine. We found ourselves at Federal Delicatessen, a vibrant eatery that serves mouth-watering New Zealand fare. We couldn’t resist their famous Reuben sandwich, which was rich and satisfying at NZD 22, and paired it with a refreshing local craft drink for about NZD 10. Another culinary highlight was Depot Eatery, where we savored fresh oysters for NZD 3 each and shared a scrumptious roast chicken for NZD 36. Each meal was a delightful representation of Auckland’s diverse food scene!

Cultural Experiences

We also immersed ourselves in the local culture by visiting Wynyard Quarter, a lively waterfront area filled with art installations, markets, and fantastic eateries. We enjoyed wandering through the weekly food market, sampling local delicacies and artisan products. This area really captures the spirit of Auckland’s vibrant community.

As we wrapped up our unforgettable journey through Central Auckland, we felt a deep connection to this vibrant city.
